NEW DIRECTOR: ENGINEERING COST MANAGEMENT
During the past year, our Engineering Cost Management (ECM) division has developed and grown extensively with inroads made into the Oil & Gas and Infrastructure sectors. We have reached a stage where we are able to expand our experience base.
Craig Hall joined our team as a director with responsibility for the ECM division. After 28 years’ service as an Executive and Business Unit Leader at AECOM, Craig brings with him extensive experience in the Infrastructure, Resources and Energy sectors.

RLB PENTAD REBRAND
Believing that the time was right to take a natural evolutionary step in our international alliance, we have incorporated the RLB brand into our branding and corporate communication. Consequently, from 19 July 2015 we have brought all our services under a new RLB Pentad brand. This change reflects the multinational expertise and reach we now offer customers throughout the African continent, backed by the global RLB brand with the knowledge and resources it embodies.
PENTAD RECEIVES ANOTHER PMR.AFRICA AWARD
Pentad has received the PMR.africa 2014 Golden Arrow Award in the category of Medium Sized Quantity Surveyor firms after a national survey was conducted on Quantity Surveyors in South Africa. The respondents to the survey rated the Quantity Surveyor firms across a range of 9 attributes, namely BEE, budget/cost control, commitment to projects, control of assignments, co-operation with clients, reliable data, reputation of the company, responsiveness and timeous completion. This is the 11th consecutive year for Pentad to receive a PMR.africa award which is a clear reflection of the hard work and dedication offered by our team of professionals.

Pentad Quantity Surveyors was selected by Rider Levett Bucknall as its Partner in Africa. Rider Levett Bucknall has over 3,000 staff operating from more than 100 offices. This will provide Pentad with global access to additional knowledge, resources, enhanced systems, and an extended client base. This will help us to service our local clients globally and throughout Africa. Pentad will be RLB’s gateway and facilitate their “reach” into Africa, whilst sharing local knowledge with them. The 10th Anniversary of the Top Women Awards, which took place on 2nd August 2013 at the Sandton Convention Centre, is a collaborative platform dedicated to recognising outstanding leadership for organisations that have stepped up and shaped women’s roles within the private and public sectors. The Top Women Awards have become synonymous with the success of women in the public and private sectors. The awards recognise those individuals who have exemplified inspiration, vision, innovation and leadership and have played a significant role in their communities and the broader society. Pentad’s Business Development Director, Sandi Mbutuma, was announced the winner of the Young Achiever Award (women under 35 years of age).
PENTAD HAS BEEN AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS HEAD OFFICE PROJECT FOR SASOL
Pentad has been appointed as Quantity Surveyors for the construction of the new Sasol head office in Sandton, South Africa. Developed by Alchemy Properties and designed by Paragon Architects, this 150 000 m² project will consist of 10 floors and 9 basement levels, and aims to achieve a 5 Star Green Star SA rating by the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). The new head office will consolidate the various Sasol business units, which are currently separately located.
